In December 2018, we embarked on an 800 km bike-packing trip from Xishuangbanna, China to Vang Vieng, Laos to document the changing landscapes and lives surrounding the mega-infrastructure projects carving their way through this landscape. The influx of Chinese capital and development in once-remote places around the globe is often told from geopolitical and economic perspectives. We show the human faces behind this story.
